Frederick Living and Garden Spot Village Recognized by Newsweek

Garden Spot Communities is honored to announce that Frederick Living and Garden Spot Village were recognized as America’s Best Nursing Homes 2025, named by Newsweek.

The rankings were announced on Newsweek’s website on Wednesday, September 25, and for the first time included communities with 50-99 beds. Fifteen communities were named in Pennsylvania. Frederick Living ranked 11; Garden Spot Village ranked 14.

The America’s Best Nursing Homes 2025 ranking lists the nation’s leading nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The evaluation is based on four data sources:

• Quality Metrics: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data were used to determine the performance of nursing homes. This year, the weighting of the performance data pillar was increased within the scoring model to reflect the emphasis on the medical key performance indicators.
• National Online Survey: From June to July 2024, thousands of medical professionals (registered nurses, nursing home managers and administrators, licensed practical nurses / licensed vocational nurses, nursing assistants, therapists and physicians) were invited to an online survey in cooperation with Newsweek.
• Accreditation Data: Nursing homes provided by The Joint Commission (TJC) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
• Google Reviews: as a proxy for resident satisfaction.

Garden Spot Village is situated on 220 acres in New Holland, Pennsylvania. A continuing care retirement community, Garden Spot Village includes 626 Independent Living homes and apartments, 65 personal care apartments, 40 memory support personal care apartments and 73 licensed skilled nursing beds for adults 55 and older. Frederick Living is a licensed continuing care retirement community situated on a 72-acre campus in rural Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The organization has been providing services to adults 55 older at this location since 1896.
